The royal road to a man’s heart is to talk to him about the things he treasures most.

Dale Carnegie was a successful and well known wordsmith and lecturer on self-development who also developed popular a running race to improve public speaking, interpersonal skills and persuading skills. He wrote many well-received books entitled “How to Win Friends and Influence People”, “How to Stop Worrying and Start Living” and “Lincoln the Unknown”.

I got a chance to read first chapter of book “how to win friends and influence people” and then I suggested to undertake “Interested Challenge.” I have to contact to my beloved ones to enquirer about their health, planning, goals , challenges and showing that “I am interested in them.” Then inspect the challenge’s effect that they will become asking question about myself and showing that they are interesting in me. I perform this to implement the Dale Carnegie sayings in my real life.

I took my cell phone and start messaging to my old friends to whom I did not talk from last 3 months because I had some other commitments too. I ask how are you , what are you doing now a days, what are your plans, etc. One of my friend Samreen replied within an hour that she is fine and ask about my fitness too. And our devoted conversation started. Likewise, other friends also amusingly respond me. I also persuade my mother to talk about her health and daily routine. I feel deep affection from her too.

To finalize this challenge, I perceive the point in Thurston saying in front of his audience over and over: “I love my audience. I love my audience.” at the starting of his show. Actually, he was interested in his audience rather than to be interesting. That’s why he was the most famous magicians of all time. He said to himself: “I am grateful because these people come to see me, They make it possible for me to make my living in a very agreeable way. I’m going to give them the very best I possibly can.”

The difference between “interested” and “interesting” detectable from this example also :

I am interested in English . ( relate to personal feelings )

and

English is interesting . ( relate to subject )

The New York Telephone Company compose a detailed study of telephone conversations to figure out which word is the most frequently used. That word was the personal pronoun “I.” “I.” I.” It was used 3,900 times in 500 telephone conversations. But you will never have many true, sincere friends through talk about yourself.

There are a lot of thing that I learnt from this challenge. Like, to become genuinely interested in people you have to show passion and love towards them and show enthusiasm to cheer up them and become famous among them. And simply just shake yourself awake and let the winds of enthusiasm sweep through you. Try to win other’s heart by interested in them.
